Roehampton minicabs, close to home

Roehampton sits on the western edge of SW15, between Putney Heath and Richmond Park. It's a short drive from our base, up Putney Hill and along the Upper Richmond Road or over the top on the A3. There's no Tube station, and buses are the main public transport, which is why so many residents keep a minicab number handy.

University, hospital and estates

We regularly collect from the University of Roehampton's campuses off Roehampton Lane, from Queen Mary's Hospital, and from the Alton Estate and Danebury Avenue in Roehampton Village. For hospital appointments, book the return when you book the outward trip, and tell us if you need help getting to the door.

Students moving in or out at the start and end of term can book a 6 seater taxi for boxes, bags and a friend or two.

Richmond Park and the A3

Roehampton Gate puts Richmond Park on the doorstep, and the A3 at Roehampton Vale gives a fast route out of London. That makes Roehampton well placed for Gatwick, with the A3 leading to the M25, and the drive typically takes 45 to 60 minutes. Heathrow is around 30 to 40 minutes away.

Into town from Roehampton

For trains north, a taxi to King's Cross or Euston avoids a bus-and-Tube combination with luggage. Nearby areas include Barnes and Southfields.

Sport and leisure

Roehampton has more sports grounds than most of London. The Bank of England Sports Centre is on Priory Lane, the Roehampton Club is on Roehampton Lane, and Richmond Park's golf course is near Roehampton Gate. Players heading to a match or a round can book a car with room for kit bags and clubs.

Getting around without a station

Without a Tube or rail station of its own, Roehampton relies on buses for most local trips. That works for many journeys, but not for a hospital appointment with a walking frame, an airport run at 4am or a move with boxes. We also cover Putney Vale and Roehampton Vale along the A3.

Richmond Park from Roehampton Gate

Roehampton Gate is one of the busiest ways into Richmond Park, with a car park, a café and bike hire just inside. Walkers set off from here towards Pen Ponds and the open grassland, and cyclists start laps of the park's roads. If you'd rather not leave a car parked all day, we can drop you at the gate and collect you later, which is useful for one-way walks that finish at a different gate, such as Sheen Gate or Robin Hood Gate. Park roads close to traffic at night, so pickups after dark work best at the gate itself or on Priory Lane outside it.

Hospital appointments made easier

Queen Mary's Hospital on Roehampton Lane has long been known for its limb-fitting and rehabilitation services, and many patients travel there regularly. A booked taxi with a set pickup time takes the worry out of appointments, and drivers can wait at the main entrance if you tell us about any mobility needs when you book.
