Earlsfield minicabs between Wandsworth and Tooting
Earlsfield runs along the valley of the River Wandle, between Wandsworth to the north and Tooting to the south. Garratt Lane is the spine of the area, lined with cafés and shops around the station, and the residential streets climb either side towards Wandsworth Common and Southfields. From our base it's a short drive through Wandsworth.
The commuter's station
Earlsfield station has frequent South Western Railway trains to Clapham Junction and Waterloo, and at rush hour the platforms are packed. A taxi makes sense when you're travelling with luggage, heading somewhere the trains don't go, or getting home after the last train. We'll collect you from outside the station if you give us your arrival time.
Earlsfield to Gatwick and Heathrow
Earlsfield is one of the better-placed parts of south-west London for Gatwick, with routes south through Tooting or Wimbledon. Allow around 45 to 60 minutes. Heathrow is usually 40 to 55 minutes. Book meet and greet for your return and we'll be waiting in arrivals.
Along the Wandle Trail
The Wandle Trail follows the river through Earlsfield on its way to the Thames, popular with walkers and cyclists. If you've walked one way and want a lift back, or need a car with room for a bike, call us. For trains into town, see Putney to Waterloo. Neighbouring areas: Wandsworth and Southfields.
Evenings on Garratt Lane
Earlsfield's stretch of Garratt Lane has become a destination for food and drink, with restaurants, bars and cafés near the station. A booked cab home saves standing on a corner looking for a lift at closing time, and we're happy to pick up from outside the restaurant.
St George's Hospital and Tooting
Earlsfield is a short drive from St George's Hospital in Tooting, one of south London's major hospitals. We take patients and visitors to and from appointments, and we cover Summerstown and the streets on the Tooting side of the area. For appointments, book your return at the same time.
Earlsfield to Gatwick: train or taxi?
On paper, Earlsfield is well connected for Gatwick: one stop to Clapham Junction, then a Southern train south. In practice, that means carrying cases up and down the stairs at one of the busiest interchanges in the country, and early flights often leave before the first useful trains. A taxi from your door takes the change out of it. For a couple travelling light at midday, the train may win on cost; for a family with luggage or anyone flying before 8am, the car usually wins on everything else. Either way, we're happy to quote so you can compare, and baby and booster seats can be added to any booking.
Wandsworth Common's southern edge
The north side of Earlsfield runs up to Wandsworth Common, with its ponds, playing fields and the station on the Common's eastern side. Walkers often finish a loop of the Common in Earlsfield, and families head there at weekends. We'll collect from any of the Common's gates, and from the streets either side of Trinity Road.
