Fulham cabs, one bridge away
Putney Bridge is all that separates our base from Fulham, so a cab to the New King's Road, Parsons Green or the mansion blocks around Fulham Palace Road is a short trip. Putney Bridge station, on the District line, is actually on the Fulham side of the river, and Fulham Broadway and Parsons Green are a few stops along.
Match days and big events
Fulham has two famous football grounds: Craven Cottage by the river and Stamford Bridge on the Fulham Road. On match days, streets around both close or fill quickly, and the Hurlingham Club and Bishop's Park host summer events too. If you need a car on a match day, book early and tell us, so the driver can plan a pickup point away from the crowds.
Fulham to the airports
Fulham is well placed for Heathrow: the A4 and M4 are close, and in light traffic the drive takes around 35 to 45 minutes. For Luton, the route heads north to the North Circular and M1. Gatwick runs cross back over the river and head south.
Local trips and the West End
From Fulham it's a quick run to Chelsea, Kensington and the shops on the King's Road, or across Wandsworth Bridge to the south side. For theatres and dinners in town, our Charing Cross page covers the West End drop-offs. Nearby areas include Hammersmith and Wandsworth.
Sands End and the river
The south-eastern corner of Fulham, around Sands End, has changed fast, with new riverside homes, Chelsea Harbour and Imperial Wharf station on the Overground. Wandsworth Bridge Road runs down to the bridge with its own shops and cafés, and Hurlingham Park sits nearby. We pick up from all of these, and the drive back over the river to Putney or Wandsworth takes just a few minutes.
Nights out in Parsons Green and Fulham Broadway
Parsons Green's pubs around the green and the restaurants and cinema at Fulham Broadway keep the area busy late into the evening. A pre-booked cab saves waiting outside on a cold night, and the District line's last trains don't suit everyone.
Fulham Palace and Bishop's Park
Right at the Fulham end of Putney Bridge, next to All Saints Church, Bishop's Park runs along the river towards Craven Cottage. Behind it, Fulham Palace, for centuries the country home of the Bishops of London, is now a museum with walled gardens and a café that's open to everyone. Families come for the playground and summer paddling pool, and walkers follow the riverside path. For a pickup, the palace entrance off Bishop's Avenue or the park gates on Stevenage Road are easy for a driver to find. On match days at Craven Cottage, Stevenage Road closes, so we'll suggest a spot nearer Fulham Palace Road instead.
